Aiming High in Faith, Love and Learning
For over 160 years Christ Church School has provided strong links between the church, parents and the community we serve. The children attending our school are very familiar with the teachings and the environment of the church. As a result, they have a secure understanding of the Christian faith.
At Christ Church School we believe that each child is created unique and therefore we provide, through teachings of the Gospel in Collective Worship and RE lessons, many opportunities for a child’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, enabling them to flourish.
Our local church partnership is with Christ Church Ware. The school serves predominantly the community of Ware.
As a church school, the staff and governors ensure that our Christian Vision and Values permeate our daily routines, policies, procedures and practices.
We aim to serve the local community by meeting our vision and creating a nurturing Christian environment, supported by parents and the local community, where children are equipped with all the skills necessary to meet their potential.
We are a distinctive Christian School, where your child will experience the following:
Collective Worship
Collective Worship will always be Christian in nature and will cover a wide range of different themes to capture the children’s interests and teach them gospel values. Collective Worship teaches the children the key Christian Values.
RE Lessons
RE Lessons are inclusive and are predominately Christianity based. For older children there are opportunities to contrast and compare Christianity to other major religions.
Regular Church Visits
At school, we visit Christ Church regularly, both for worship and RE lessons. In addition to this, Christ Church clergy and team lead Collective Worship on Mondays. The children also receive support from a Children’s Worker, who visits the school regularly.
Prayer and Reflection
There are regular opportunities for prayer during the day. We also have ‘Reflection Areas’ where the children can go for reflection and prayer.
