Aiming High in Faith, Love and Learning
Christ Church School Parent Staff Association
The PSA supports the vision and aims of the school by promoting parental and family involvement in the life of the school. We organise fund raising and social events to contribute to the development of a stimulating learning environment for all our children.
As a parent at Christ Church you are automatically a member of the PSA.
Christ Church PSA has a Committee that is elected each year at the Annual General Meeting to represent all parents. Get to know a committee member and make your voice heard. We welcome fresh ideas and enthusiasm!
Members of the Committee are:
Every year we hold a very popular Summer Barbecue and Christmas Bazaar. We have also organised events for children including Discos, Cinema Nights and Easter Egg Hunts. Events for parents have included Ladies Pamper Evenings, Quiz Nights and a Wine Tasting. We also provide refreshments at School Church Services.
The main criteria for funding projects is that it will be universal (ie benefit the whole Key Stage or school, or year group - if future year groups also benefit). The main focus in recent years has been developing the school grounds. We provided new play equipment for the front playground and also the school field, including the trim trail and developing a nature area. We part funded a trim trail around the play equipment outside the library to make it suitable for all-weather play. We have funded the purchase of iPads to be shared by a whole class and equipment for Charanga, the new popular music scheme. We have provided new play equipment for Nursery. We subsidise theatre visits (such as pantomime), music programmes such as the popular steel drumming workshops and provide autograph books for Year 6 children as they leave the school.
There are PSA Notice boards next to the office window and outside the nursery. We publish a PSA Newsletter and post to the Christ Church School PSA group on Facebook:
Parents support the school in many different ways from running after school clubs, helping on school trips and hearing children read. You can help the PSA to support the school by coming along to events, offering to help out or even helping to organise events. You can also help by sharing your ideas for fund raising or social events, and by attending the AGM in the Autumn term.
An easy way to help fundraising is to buy online goods via 'Easy Fundraising'. It doesn't cost you anything, you access all your usual favourite shopping sites, but the PSA is paid for every hit!
